At the 1st Quarter Conference in 2005, I gave a presentation on “Making Optimism your Philosophy of Life” In preparing the slides it came home to me that this was truly a noble approach to life as a whole. This concept has been the driving force in my life and has propelled me at this time to offer myself as your Governor. 

I have applied this principle in all aspects of my life. As a family man,(married for 26 years)  wife Prudence (Medical Doctor) and two children; daughter Deborah – 23  (Past President of Wolmer’s Girls High JOOI Club) and son Stephen 19, I have adopted this philosophy in keeping our family unit together, while achieving our individual successes.

In the corporate arena, as a Senior Manager and at times the organization’s leader, I have sought to bring the positives to bear within the management team as we pursue corporate goals.  I have included a summary of my Resume below.  My exposure has been varied and has made me a multi-skilled manager.

This is the “flavor” I bring to the Caribbean District as your Governor. This augmented by the inspiration I have received having attended numerous Optimist training sessions over the years.

Another concept which has been proven to engender success is teamwork. I believe that, as the Caribbean District; stretching from the Bahamas and Cayman Islands through the Greater and Lesser Antilles, reaching through to Trinidad, Curacao and Suriname, we make a great team.  Our diversities as a people add a special blend to Optimism. I hope to
bring to the fore the richness of our diversity in giving a more prominent face to Optimism.
